FUROSHIKI

- a hands-on guide on making and using your furoshiki wrapping cloth.

In Japan, cloth wrapping has been used for over 1200 years - initially as a way to protect belongings, as a spread and then developed over time in different sizes, for many other uses - like wrappping gifts which is most popular to this day.

We made this large-sized furoshiki wrapping cloth using end-rolls and fabric cuttings from our clothing production processes. We love using the small 48cm furoshiki to wrap lunch packs and gift wrap, and the large 80cm cloth to transport stuff. So, we commissioned Maker B. Gallagher to make a leather handle to help shape this useful piece of cloth into an elegant carry bag.

We have a handful of these large cloth sets available here. We also made a fun video on making and using your furoshiki - see below!
